She is a fifth-generation descendant of Greater Fort Worth American Legion Post 516 Family members being the Great, Great, Great Granddaughter of Bea Alcoze, Great, Great Granddaughter of Joe and Mary Fenn (both post/unit officers), Granddaughter of Past Post Commander David Fenn, Daughter of Crystal Fenn Swank and a lifelong member of our Post 516 Family.
Before her diagnosis, Autumn was our Post Poppy Queen in 2009 and has participated in many Flag Retirement and other patriotic ceremonies before and afterwords so long as health allowed.
Before she was nine years old, she started Autumn’s Bears bringing stuffed bears to the children in Cooks Children’s Hospital. When Snowball Express started in the Metroplex she began her project to give each child a stuffed animal and succeeded. In 2012 she provided about 2,000 to the kids and families. Unfortunately, this event was moved from the DFW Metroplex to Florida.
